Movember Events

This Movember, for the nationally recognized campaign to raise awareness of men’s mental health issues, SPP is hosting workshops and trainings with CCS. All are welcome!

  • The CCS Movember Campaign Presents: Changing the Narrative about Masculinity & Suicide – Laura Lewis + Trainee
    • Wednesday, November 12th 5-6PM Virtual (Zoom)
    • Open to undergraduate and graduate students.
      • This workshop is part of a series for Movember which is a nationally recognized campaign to raise awareness of men’s mental health issues. Men are at a significantly higher risk of dying by suicide than women, often because they don't seek help for emotional distress due to adhering to “traditional” masculine norms. This presentation will review the research around health disparities for men and how positive masculinity can promote help-seeking behaviors and prevent suicide. All are welcome as we discuss this important topic!
