World Suicide Prevention Day
Every Buckeye plays a role in suicide prevention! Let's create a campus community where we shift from a culture of silence and stigma to one of openness, understanding and support. Join us and our 2025 SPP WSPD partners as we together reduce mental health stigma and promote hope and healing on Sept. 10. Sign up to volunteer now.
September 10, 2025 WSPD Campus Events

CampusParc staff and volunteers will be out and about in parking lots and garages passing out snacks and swag! You will also see positive messaging on the garage digital signs as you enter/exit the garages and signs on the elevators.
- Facilities will be placing campus culture of care stickers on all their custodial carts and clings on bathroom mirrors to raise awareness that hope and healing exist!
- For additional advocacy on this day, CampusParc and Facilities are bringing the message of hope and healing to the ears of all customers (students, staff, faculty, and guests) by changing their phone hold message for the week to say the following: Did you know September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day? For more information about what our campus is doing to create a culture of care visit suicideprevention.osu.edu. You can also text, call, or chat 988 for 24/7 judgment-free support for mental health, substance use, and more.

Transportation & Traffic Management will have digital messages running on the campus CABS buses on this day, communicating the message of hope and healing. They will also have volunteers at the following bus stops passing out swag:

Established in 2003 by the International Association for Suicide Prevention with the World Health Organization (WHO), September 10 is recognized as World Suicide Prevention Day. The purpose is to raise awareness around the globe that suicide can be prevented and is a call to action that encourages everyone to help reduce stigma around suicide and mental health. This theme also emphasizes the need to prioritize suicide prevention and mental health in policy making, advocating for an increase in access to care and providing support for those in need.
