At this time, partnerships with RUOK? Buckeyes programming can only be offered to graduate and professional programs. While we are exploring opportunities to provide this service to undergraduate students in the future, we currently do not have the staffing capacity to expand the reach of the RUOK? Buckeyes services. If you are concerned about an undergraduate student in your program, please refer them to the Ohio State University’s Counseling and Consultation Services.
If you would like to add your voice to the growing list of supporters and partners advocating for RUOK? Buckeyes, please take a moment to email your comments and concerns to ruokbuckeyes@osu.edu.
You may be wondering how you can bring the RUOK? Buckeyes program to your graduate students. Thankfully, it is easy to partner with RUOK? Buckeyes! Please see below for how RUOK? Buckeyes can be implemented in your program in a few easy steps:
Graduate/Professional program participation in RUOK? Buckeyes is voluntary. The partnership begins with a graduate program identifying a desire to create a culture of caring about its students’ mental health and well-being and reaching out.
- The department/college/academic program will be assigned a point of contact to lead them through the process from start to finish.
- The department/college/academic program will be asked to schedule a ‘Partner 1 Meeting’ to determine their ‘roll-out date’ – this is the date an email invitation with a link to The Questionnaire will be sent to students.
- Roll-Outs can be scheduled in the Autumn or Spring semesters depending on the needs of the department/college/academic program.
- The RUOK? Buckeyes point person works with the department/college/academic program to customize templates to 3 emails:
- Preview email for students
- Informational email for staff/faculty
- Invitation email for students (with a unique live link for the Questionnaire)
- Students receive two emails from their graduate department.
- The first introduces the department/college/academic program’s partnership with RUOK? Buckeyes.
- A second invites them to complete a confidential and anonymous Stress & Depression Questionnaire.
- The link is only live for a two-week window beginning with the roll-out date.
- A qualified university counselor evaluates the completed questionnaires.
- Graduate student participants receive a personalized written assessment from a qualified university counselor through a portal that ensures anonymous communication.
- Participants are invited to correspond with the counselor online to ask questions and discuss concerns about possible treatment and resources.
- A “Partner 2 Meeting” is scheduled where a de-identified report is shared detailing results and recommendations for additional student support strategies and next steps.
