Suicide is complicated and tragic, but it is often preventable. We can decrease suicide and suicide attempts by increasing student, staff, and faculty knowledge and adaptive attitudes about help-seeking and reducing the stigma of mental illness, as well as acknowledging the importance of seeking help or treatment. Knowing the warning signs, risk factors, and protective factors can help save lives.

OSU Suicide Prevention Program Presentation Request

OSUSPP Main Campus now offers a 30 minute presentation which offers an introduction to the mission and goals of suicide prevention and our program, explains the many important suicide prevention efforts and initiatives happening on campus, shares a few basic facts about suicide, and helps students, staff, and faculty learn how they can join us in creating a campus culture of care at OSU. Please allow a minimum of two weeks advance notice for a request which is also dependent on staff availability.

*NOTE: This presentation will not train students, staff, and faculty how to recognize and respond to signs of suicide and is not the same type of presentation as a REACH suicide prevention gatekeeper training. Please visit https://suicideprevention.osu.edu/reach/ to schedule a 90 minute REACH training to learn those skills.
